Common Questions About TRICARE East
How do I find a TRICARE East provider?
Visit humanamilitary.com and use the "Find a Provider" search tool, or call 1-800-444-5445 for help. You can filter by specialty, location, accepting new patients, and TRICARE plan type.
Do I need a referral to see a specialist?
TRICARE Prime beneficiaries need a referral from their Primary Care Manager (PCM). TRICARE Select beneficiaries can self-refer to any TRICARE-authorized provider, though prior authorization may still be needed for some services.
I just PCS'd to the East region — what do I do?
Contact Humana Military at 1-800-444-5445 to update your address. If you have TRICARE Prime, you'll need to select a new PCM in your area. Update your information in DEERS at your nearest ID card office or online at milConnect.
What's the difference between network and non-network care?
Network providers have agreed to TRICARE-approved rates and will file claims for you. Non-network providers may charge more and you may need to file your own claims. Using network providers almost always saves you money.
