Well-child care includes routine pediatric health visits, developmental screenings, immunizations, and preventive services designed to monitor a child's growth, development, and overall health. TRICARE covers well-child care at no cost to the beneficiary as part of its comprehensive preventive care benefit.

Well-child care services covered at no cost: • Routine physical examinations • Growth and developmental assessments • Vision and hearing screenings • Immunizations per CDC recommended schedule • Newborn screenings • Developmental and behavioral screenings • Nutritional counseling • Anticipatory guidance and health education

Recommended well-child visit schedule: • Newborn: 3-5 days after birth • Infant: 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, and 12 months • Toddler: 15, 18, 24, and 30 months • Preschool: Annual visits from ages 3-5 • School age: Annual visits from ages 6-17
