TRICARE Reserve Select

A premium-based plan for qualified Selected Reserve members and their families — medical and vision only, no dental or pharmacy.

TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS) is a premium-based health plan available worldwide to qualified members of the Selected Reserve and their families. Reservists on active-duty orders, retirees, and members of the Individual Ready Reserve (including Navy Reserve Voluntary Training Units) do not qualify.

TRS covers medical and vision care only — no dental or pharmacy benefits — and you can use any TRICARE-authorized provider. Premiums are charged monthly and don’t count toward your catastrophic cap. If you disenroll, you can’t re-enroll for 12 months, so treat the decision as a real commitment, not something to toggle casually.
