How It Works

TRICARE Prime • Coordinate with your PCM • Referrals to OB/GYN • $0 for active duty family members • Minimal copays for retirees

TRICARE Select • No referral needed • Choose any authorized OB/GYN • Deductible + cost-shares apply

Important Steps 1. Notify TRICARE within first trimester 2. Register baby in DEERS within 30 days of birth 3. Enroll baby in health plan if required

Covered Births • Hospital births • Birthing center deliveries • Home births (with certified midwife)

After Baby Arrives • Newborn automatically covered first 30 days • Must register in DEERS for continued coverage • Baby needs own ID number
