Overview

TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS) is a premium-based health plan for members of the Selected Reserve (Army Reserve, Navy Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, Air Force Reserve, Coast Guard Reserve, and Air/Army National Guard) and their families, when the member is not on active-duty orders for more than 30 days and is not eligible for or enrolled in the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) program.

2025 premiums

2025 monthly premiums: $54.20 member-only and $256.81 member-and-family. Premiums are paid monthly by allotment, electronic funds transfer, or recurring credit card.

How it works

How it works: TRS uses TRICARE Select rules. You can see any TRICARE-authorized provider (network or non-network), no referrals are required for most care, and you pay the Select cost-shares and annual deductible (Group A: $58/individual, $116/family network; Group B: $63/$126).

Enrollment

Enroll within 60 days of qualifying (a new Reserve appointment, loss of FEHB, etc.) or during Open Season. Manage enrollment through milConnect and pay your first two months of premiums at sign-up.

Active-duty transition

When you go on active-duty orders for more than 30 days, you and your family transition to active-duty TRICARE coverage; TRS suspends until you return to Selected Reserve status.
