How much does TRICARE cost?

TRICARE costs depend on your beneficiary category and chosen plan:

Active Duty Service Members • No enrollment fees • No out-of-pocket costs • Automatically enrolled in TRICARE Prime

Active Duty Family Members • TRICARE Prime: No enrollment fee, minimal copays • TRICARE Select: Annual enrollment fee varies by service (E-4 and below exempt) • No copays for most care under Prime

Retirees & Families (Under 65) • TRICARE Prime: Annual enrollment fees ($350 individual, $700 family for 2024) • TRICARE Select: Annual enrollment fees ($217 individual, $434 family for 2024) • Copays/cost-shares apply based on plan and provider

TRICARE For Life (65+) • No enrollment fees • Medicare Part B premium required • Minimal out-of-pocket costs • Acts as secondary insurance to Medicare

Reserve Select • Monthly premiums based on family size • Additional cost-shares may apply
