Additional benefits for qualifying disabilities and chronic conditions.

The Extended Care Health Option (ECHO) provides additional benefits and services beyond standard TRICARE coverage for eligible beneficiaries with qualifying disabilities or chronic conditions. ECHO is designed to support active duty family members (ADFMs) and other beneficiaries who need enhanced care.

ECHO benefits may include: • Respite care to relieve primary caregivers • Home health care services • Durable medical equipment beyond TRICARE basic coverage • Institutional care in specialized facilities • Training and educational services • Specialized evaluations and therapies

Who qualifies for ECHO: • Must be an eligible TRICARE beneficiary • Must have a qualifying condition (moderate or severe disability or extraordinary physical/psychological condition) • Must be enrolled in the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) if required • Active duty family members receive priority

ECHO works alongside your regular TRICARE coverage to provide additional support that addresses the unique needs of beneficiaries with serious disabilities or chronic conditions. Each ECHO benefit has specific criteria, limits, and approval requirements.

Contact your regional contractor or the ECHO program manager to determine eligibility and available services.
