Tricare Dental

Although none of the TRICARE health care plans provide coverage for dental treatment, a voluntary program is available, which you can learn more about here.

TRICARE also offers a voluntary dental plan, called the TRICARE Dental program. People who are eligible to enroll for this program include the members of the family of a man or woman who is currently serving in the military forces, the families of members of the National Guard or Reserve and any member of the National Guard or Reserve who is not actively serving at the moment and who is not provided coverage by any other program, such as the Transitional Assistance Management Program.

The TRICARE Dental Program is widely available, in different parts of the United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands and Guam. It is also available in a few other locations.

At present, there are various dental care services that are included in the TRICARE Dental Program, such as exams, fluorides, x-rays, cleanings and sealants. Fillings, root canals, tooth extractions, gum surgery and other oral surgeries are also covered by the TRICARE Dental Program. In addition to this, theTRICARE Dental Plan also covers crowns, dentures, braces and orthodontics. Any scaling or root planning (which is a form of deep cleaning) for patients who are diabetic and additional tooth cleaning for women who are pregnant are also covered by this dental care program.

The main contractor for dental care is MetLife. Once you have registered for the TRICARE Dental Program, you will be allowed to form an account with MetLife. Through this account, you will be able to see the entire dental coverage that you have, check claims and view the history of any claims that you have previously made.

In addition to this, you can also see the explanations that are provided for the various benefits that are covered by this program. If you are trying to find a dentist or if you want to file a complaint, then you can also do that using the MetLife account. Furthermore, a helpful section with frequently asked general questions is also available. You can also access information about oral health. Furthermore, you can download any necessary forms and documents after you have created your MetLife account.
